Beginning of Most Awaited Excursion

There is a saying in my village. "...., Kya Laddakh Jayega ?" more a taunt but fair enough to realize target person that he/she should say things, which has grounds.

I too heard this, not many times, but enough to tweak my mind to explore this place. I did imagine many things about Laddakh, why its a most difficult and heavenly destination to visit for all. I have already missed 2 opportunities before this time, that made me more curious and certain to explore this experimental location for body and mind.

I found 2 more companions (batch-mates) enthusiastic for the same, so plans came into action.

Our plan was to explore on cruisers with 2 wheels, and we bought most of the materials to support bike tour to Leh.

Meanwhile, Manali-Leh (Biker's Paradise) route was closed due to landsliding, and we were told that Srinagar-Leh is not thrilling enough for bikers to visit Leh.

Till then, our adventurous intentions were not shared with our respective parents/families, which was a big step. When I told to my family, there were having mixed feelings, but finally they approved. But all the families are not same, and we had to change the plan.

Now options left with us were either travel via air-route/Car-Suv or cancel the plan. There were little time to think and respond, and finally we booked air tickets to Leh, b'coz last and 4th companion was passionate enough.

Finally, The route and day plan was(One Week):
----------------------------------------------------
1. Delhi-Leh(Air-Route)
2. Leh and Nearby 5 Days (Car/Bike)
4. Leh-Srinager 1 Day (Car)
5. Srinager-Delhi (Air)

So, we gathered all the required material and finished packing just 2 hours before departure, I would say we packed things in excess which we even didn't use in Leh, and booked the 3 AM cab from Gurgaon to IGI-Airport Delhi. Journey to Leh began with morning flight of IndiGo to Leh @ 5 AM.

Flight was little late, but fortunate enough to amaze us with the sun rising @ Horizon, a scenery I will always keep in my heart and adore my lifetime. Actually, this was my first moment to see a Sun rising on great widened horizon.

Next view was Great Himalayas, vast and vital from small windows above 35000 feet from earth. The style of laying hills, length and height, you can't move or close your eyes. The view of Leh valley and River Sindhu, can't be erased from your mind even if you may suffering from Amnesia.

There was a small landing stripe @ Leh, and low air pressure, you may feel a rough landing, but you can predict this as an adventurous start.

Before I write about my expedition, in this beginning blog, I want to write about Leh Tour Blueprint.

1. This is not a honeymoon place, surely adventurous no doubt, as you will find this after reaching Leh. But worth watching with your partner.

2. Plan your reaching there and returning in advance but don't book hotel or rent car in advance.

3. Keep your medicine, diamox tablets, and first add. Winter cloths not much, a jacket (more will be needed for a fashionable person as most of pick will be clicked while wearing a jacket), pair of normal socks, shoes, woolen cap, lots of water, casual attire (which you wear @Home).

4. Laddakh Map of Tourist places, and a smiling face to greet and ask some info from locals and tourists.

About Hotel Booking :: Leh is not a big town, all hotels and market places come under 3 kms diameter, so when you reach there, just go into some street and look for the END hotel, you will get best price and newest furniture.
